What we saw

NYC In Focus stopped by Friday night. The first thing the cook behind the counter did was hold up a chimichurri cheesesteak. “Listen to this breaking news,” he said. “We have a chimichurri cheesesteak… garlic, parsley, red wine. It’s delicious.” He then pitched the new Chipotle Style Cheesesteak, which the deal board says comes with cilantro, adding lime “to cut it.” The shop’s own menu lists a Chimichurri Cheese Steak with beef or chicken, red onions, hot cherry peppers and house-made chimichurri on toasted garlic bread.

Next came the wings. “These are non-breaded, never frozen, baked and fried, tossed in our signature Buffalo sauce, house made,” he said. Orders kept going out the whole time we were there. In his words, it was “package after package.”

Howard Weiss, NYC In Focus: “Whenever I’m in this area in Marine Park, this is right down by Kings Plaza, you got to stop by this place. I come from the other side of Brooklyn just to get food here all the time.”

On the menu

The menu centers on cheesesteaks and chopped cheese, and the shop’s website calls both its top sellers. Here are a few, with prices from the shop’s DoorDash page as checked Oct. 30, 2026. Prices can differ in store.

  • O.G. Chop Cheese: steak burger, cheese, sautéed onions, lettuce, signature sauce. $16.99 on DoorDash.
  • Beef Cheese Steak: seasoned beef, melted cheese, onions, sweet peppers, ricotta on garlic bread. $18.99 on DoorDash.
  • Spicy Cheese Steak: hot cherry peppers and horseradish aioli on garlic bread. $18.99 on DoorDash.
  • Zeppole are a regular dessert on the menu, so Saturday’s freebie isn’t a one-off item.
  • Also on the menu: smash burgers, Buffalo wings, roast beef with fresh mozzarella, and the Angry Bird hot-honey chicken cheesesteak.

In print: Before moving to Avenue T, the shop ran a kiosk inside City Acres Market in the Financial District. Eat This NY made its chop cheese a “Dish of the Week” in March 2021, writing that “the sirloin was charred to perfection.” The Downtown Alliance covered that location in 2020.
