City notices published Oct. 21 through Oct. 23 put five infrastructure jobs in motion: a top-to-bottom rebuild of the Paerdegat pumping station on Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn, structural repairs to the North River wastewater plant over the Hudson, FDNY ladder trucks, NYCHA floor tile in eight Manhattan developments and forest work on Prospect Park’s Lookout Hill.

Paerdegat pumping station, Brooklyn

The Department of Environmental Protection is seeking bids to reconstruct the station at 6002 Flatlands Ave., which feeds the Coney Island wastewater plant. It was built in 1932 and last upgraded in 1995.

The station is designed for 57 million gallons a day in wet weather and 22.8 million in dry weather. The to-do list runs long: new pumps, new mechanical, HVAC and electrical systems, a permanent emergency generator with fuel storage, a new parallel force main, a longer spillway, a new roof and façade, remote-monitoring cameras and the replacement of a “vintage wood gate.”

Bidding is limited to a pre-qualified list. City records show bids due Dec. 16, 2026.

North River wastewater plant, Manhattan

The North River plant, built in 1986, sits above the Hudson River, mostly on steel caissons driven into the river bottom. The notice says numerous structural elements show “signs of aging and significant degradation.”

Contract NR-107 covers four pieces: caisson protection, replacement of the sludge barge loading dock fenders, underdeck repairs and reconstruction of the ice breaker. Bids from pre-qualified firms are due Dec. 9, 2026.

FDNY 100-foot tractor-drawn aerial ladders

The Department of Citywide Administrative Services is taking competitive sealed bids on a five-year requirements contract for 100-foot tractor-drawn aerial apparatus for the FDNY. The bid opening is set for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2, held virtually on Microsoft Teams.

NYCHA floor tile in eight Manhattan developments

NYCHA plans eight separate three-year contracts, each with two optional one-year renewals, to install vinyl composition floor tile in apartments at Carver, Clinton, Isaacs/Holmes Towers, Lehman Village, Washington, Johnson, Taft and Lincoln Houses.

No single low bidder can sweep the series: NYCHA will award one contract per firm first, then possibly one more. Bidders must be on NYCHA’s tile pre-qualified list, and bids are due Nov. 20, 2026.

Prospect Park Lookout Hill forest restoration

NYC Parks proposes Deborah Bradley Construction and Management Services, Inc., of Manhattan Avenue, for Phase 1 of the Lookout Hill forest restoration in Brooklyn, at $752,211.30. The term runs April 5, 2027, through April 3, 2030, and the method is an MWBE small purchase.

What the notices do not say

None of the four solicitations gives an estimated cost. The Parks notice does not say what the forest restoration involves on the ground, and the NYCHA notice does not say how many apartments will get new floors.
